| Formed four years ago by Steve Hill (guitar), Matt Gilmore (bass) and Ray ‘X-Ray’ Peverill (drums), SKAM are a three-piece, hard rock band based in Leicester. With over 400 gigs to their name to date and having played in every major city in the UK this is a crack live unit with a stage show second to none.Influenced by bands such as AC/DC, Iron Maiden and The Foo Fighters the band have a reputation for delivering no-nonsense, gutsy, classic British rock music. Their passion and conviction as a live act has resulted in a strong local following, with one notable local reviewer dubbing them “Leicester legends.”Seasoned road dogs that they are, March 2012 saw the boys complete a sold out UK and Ireland tour in support of The Answer and The Union. This tour allowed the band play to over 10,000 people. Previous to this they had secured slots supporting several major rock acts including: The Wildhearts, Laika Dog, Bonafide, Blaze Bailey and Del Bonham’s Stray. Recent stand out performances include Headlining the BBC introducing stage at Cambridge Rock Festival and a Sun soaked performance it this years Bulldog bash.This year alone the band have gained a lot of momentum and have received some great press coverage including being featured on 2 Classic rock cover mount CD’s, a full-page feature in the ‘High Hopes’ section of the Mag, Their second single ‘Dead From The Waist Down’ has had extensive airplay on notable shows such as Ian Camfields XFM rock show, Johnny Doom on Kerrang radio plus a whole host of local radio. Recently the single has also been included on the cover mount CD of Metal Hammer Magazine.
With two self-produced EP’s already under their belts (both of which supported by UK club tours), SKAM released their debut album in December 2011 which was produced and recorded by renowned hard rock producer Matt Elliss (Terrorvision, Black Spiders, Laika Dog, Groop Dogdrill) at Axis Productions in Doncaster.
